Meet The Principals
Dr. Netra Taylor
Building Principal
Dr. Taylor is one of the Collaborative's most veteran administrators, having worked in Normandy for more than 20 years. Dr. Taylor joined Normandy in 1994 as a fifth-grade teacher at the former Bel-Ridge Elementary School. Since then, she has served in a variety of roles. She began her current role as principal at Barack Obama School in 2013.
Dr. Taylor earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Lincoln University, but later returned to school for certifications in Elementary Education and Reading. She earned her master's degrees in Education (curriculum and instruction, and elementary school administration and supervision) from National Louis University and University of Missouri-St. Louis (respectively). Dr. Taylor earned her doctorate degree in Character Education and Democratic School Governance from Maryville University. She is the recipient of the Iota Phi Lambda (IPL) Apple for the Teacher Award, and a member of IPL and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Assistant Principal
Dr. Jason Spray who is also an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis,. is a veteran educator with a passion for science. His professional affiliations include the National Science Teachers Association, Science Teachers of Missouri, and the National Association for Research in Science Teaching. He strives to promote effective instructional strategies that maximize student learning.
